How We Helped Alana Healthcare Rank At The Top For Their Target Keyword

The Problem

Alana Healthcare were in the midst of an important website refresh and engaged Local Digital to assist with the site migration to ensure their Google visibility would remain strong. Furthermore, the client wanted to boost the number of Obstetric consultations as booking numbers were dropping. Their target keyword obstetrician sydney had slowly but surely dropped down to the bottom of the first page of Google’s search results.

Our job was clear cut – successfully migrate the old website to the new design without losing Google rankings or disturbing organic traffic, as well as improving the rankings of Obstetric related keywords.

The Solution

To ensure there was no drop in organic traffic, we mapped out the existing URLs to the new proposed URL structure. 301 redirects were put in place to inform Google’s crawlers that the page has been moved permanently. This also ensured that if anyone clicked on a old URL, they would be redirected to the right page on the new website.

We audited all of the “SEO basics” – meta data, heading tags, page copy etc across all the key pages to make sure they were optimised for their target keywords.

After updating these areas where necessary, we rolled out new content to the main category pages to support the optimised meta data. TF-IDF optimisation of key pages on the site helped to better provide Google with the context it needed to rank the site at the top of its search results.

Finally, to compliment the onsite optimisation, we commenced a link acquisition campaign to boost the authority of the domain. This involved prospecting for relevant, high-quality domains and placing links on them which improved the authority of the Alana Healthcare domain and lead to improved rankings.

The Results


We successfully migrated the old Alana Healthcare website to the update site with minimal traffic or ranking loss.

A comprehensive SEO strategy was rolled out for the new website.

This included meta data optimisation to ensure all pages were targeting high value keywords. This was backed up by on-page copy optimisation to ensure target keywords were present.

Offiste, all major business directory and local citations were built as well as a range of authority links acquired to strengthen the domain.

As a result, Alana Healthcare is now ranking second for their target keyword ‘obstetricain Sydney’, while other rankings remain strong, including first position rankings for many gynecology related search terms .

This lead to a increase in visitors and obstetric related leads generated via SEO.
