How Sydney City Chauffeurs tripled their leads from the same spend

An offshore SEO team left Sydney City Chauffeurs with duplicate content, spammy links and a domain rating of zero, and their ad account was buying clicks nobody wanted. They now top the Sydney map pack, and leads went from 66 a month to 205 on the same budget.

The problem

Sydney City Chauffeurs run a private car and chauffeur service across Sydney, covering airport runs, corporate transfers and weddings. Before they came to us their SEO had been handed to an offshore team, and what came back was duplicate content, thin pages and a backlink profile full of spam. Their domain rating sat at zero. Ahrefs had them ranking for 233 keywords in March 2024, which sounds healthy until you check where those keywords actually sat: 11 on page one, the other 222 on page two or worse.

The Google Ads account was in worse shape. Everything pointed at broad keywords and chased clicks, conversion tracking had never been set up, and a large share of the budget went on searches that had nothing to do with hiring a car. Salman was getting a handful of enquiries a day off a budget that should have delivered a lot more.

What we did

Two jobs ran in parallel. Undo the damage on the site, and rebuild the ad account properly. Then make the two feed each other.

1Cleaned up the site and rewrote the copyEvery page was rewritten to clear out the duplicate content the offshore team had left behind, and the thin pages were consolidated into something worth ranking.
2Disavowed the spam, built real linksThe toxic backlinks were audited and disavowed, then replaced with links from sites that carry genuine authority.
3Rebuilt the ad account around intentThe account was restructured so every keyword theme had its own ads and matching page copy. Hundreds of negative keywords went in to stop the budget leaking on searches that were never going to book a car.
4Set up tracking, then handed bidding to GoogleConversion tracking went on the website and the ad account first. Once there was enough conversion data in the account to work with, bidding moved to an automated strategy.
5Built suburb pages, then targeted them with adsLocation pages went up for the areas across Sydney they service. Those same pages became the long tail of the ad account: a search for chauffeur service Parramatta gets a Parramatta ad and lands on a Parramatta page.

The results

Leads through the ad account went from 66 in August 2024 to 205 in August 2026, on the same monthly spend. Salman reports enquiries have tripled since we took over, and the mix has changed with them: corporate bookings come through regularly now where they were rare before. On the organic side they hold the top spot in the Sydney map pack for three of their money terms and sit second for two more.

On the organic side the shape of the profile is the opposite of what the offshore team left. Total ranking keywords came down, from 233 to 95, because most of what they had was junk that was never going to earn a click. Where the remaining keywords sit is the part that counts: 85 of them are on page one, up from 11. The suburb pages now give the ad account somewhere specific to send every long tail search, and that is the piece still compounding.
