The Google Shopping agency that fixes the feed first

Shopping ads run on your product feed, so that is where we start. Merchant Center fixed, titles and attributes rewritten, the catalogue split so the products with margin get the budget, and revenue and return on ad spend reported every month.

Your product feed is the campaign

Shopping ads run on your product feed. Google reads it, decides which searches each product matches, and shows the photo, the price and the store name above the text ads. A title missing the brand or the size never enters the auctions it should win.

So the feed comes first. Titles, attributes, prices and images get fixed in Merchant Center before a bid is touched, then the catalogue is split so the products with margin carry the budget and the ones that never sell stop eating it.

225%more revenue year on year for a sportswear retailer after its feed was re-segmented
62%more online sales for an appliance retailer, with return on ad spend up 200%

Our Google Shopping management: what every account includes

Six jobs, run by the same account manager every week, and a monthly report that shows revenue and return on ad spend by category and product.

01

Merchant Center set up and fixed

Price mismatches, tax settings, shipping, returns and disapproved products sorted before anything goes live. For one homewares store the price in the feed did not match the site because of GST, and a rule that multiplied the feed price by 1.1 fixed it.

02

Feed optimisation

Titles rewritten in the order shoppers search: brand, product, key attribute, size or colour. GTINs, brands, product types and custom labels filled in so the feed can be split by margin, stock or season. Images checked against Google's rules.

03

Campaigns split by what sells

One campaign across the whole catalogue lets low sellers soak up spend. We split by category, margin or performance so budget follows the products that return it. An appliance retailer's online sales rose 62% after its campaigns were rebuilt by category.

04

Performance Max for retail

Performance Max runs Shopping alongside YouTube, Display and Gmail. With a clean feed it earns its place for most stores. We run it with brand exclusions and listing groups set by margin, and report it on its own line.

05

Product pruning and ROAS targets

Products that miss the target return get excluded, and bidding moves from maximising conversions to a target ROAS once each product has enough history. A homewares store excluded everything below 2:1 and finished at 9.22.

06

Dynamic remarketing

Shoppers who viewed a product and left see that exact product again, with its current price. It is the cheapest sale in most Shopping accounts, and it switches off once they buy.

Feed checklist

What your Shopping feed has to get right

Four checks every feed goes through in the first fortnight. A feed that fails any of them loses auctions it should win.

Titles that match the search

Brand, product type and the attribute people search by, in that order, inside the first 70 characters. "Nike Pegasus 41 men's running shoe, size 10" wins auctions that "Pegasus 41" never enters.

Prices that match the page

The feed price, the page price and the checkout price must agree, GST included. A mismatch gets products disapproved, and repeated mismatches can suspend the account.

Identifiers filled in

GTIN, brand and MPN tell Google exactly what you sell, so your product can appear against the same product from other stores. Missing identifiers limit where it shows.

Shipping and returns stated

Delivery cost, delivery time and the returns policy set in Merchant Center. They show on the ad, and a free-delivery label earns clicks the competitor next to you does not.

Why stores stay

Why online stores stay past month three

01Revenue and ROAS on page oneEvery monthly report opens with revenue, orders and return on ad spend, by category and by product. Clicks and impressions sit behind them.
02Feed work is part of the jobTitles, attributes, custom labels and Merchant Center fixes are inside the management fee. A Shopping agency that only touches bids is working on the smaller half of the problem.
03Your accounts, your dataGoogle Ads and Merchant Center are built in your name, so the product history stays with you. Three months to start, then month to month with no notice period.
04SEO on the same productsThe same agency runs ecommerce SEO. Shopping data shows which products and categories sell, and those become the category pages the SEO team builds first.

Client reviews

What clients say about our ads

Four reviews from the 70-plus on Google and Clutch, quoted as written.

★★★★★

Our rental fleet is currently at 95% utilisation. That's up from 70% before Local Digital took over our advertising. Proof is in the pudding: sales are up. They're happy to let their work speak for itself with no lock-in contracts, and we receive detailed monthly reports showing campaign progress.

We're achieving our revenue goals and our ROAS goals, with a high volume of customers to the online store and a higher volume of customers to the bricks-and-mortar store too. Extremely organised, responded quickly to our needs, took our recommendations on board and delivered on time.

How it works

The first 90 days, and every month after

1Before you sign

Free account review

Send us the account, or the website if there is no account yet. We show you the wasted spend, the tracking that was never right and what your market costs per click, with a forecast. The findings are yours whether you hire us or not.

2First 30 days

Build the plumbing

Account build or rebuild, campaign structure, keyword research, negative lists, conversion tracking and call tracking proven end to end, and landing pages sorted before the budget goes live.

3Days 30 to 90

Cut waste, find the winners

Search terms read every week, negatives added, bids and budgets moved towards what converts, ads tested in pairs. This is where cost per lead usually drops hardest.

4Every month after

Report on leads, not clicks

Calls, forms and sales from Ads, this month against last, with cost per lead next to what you paid us. Then we set next month against what the phone actually did.

Products can show within days of approval. A sportswear retailer saw revenue lift in the first month on the same spend. Start with a free account review
What it costs

What Google Shopping management costs

Two numbers. Our management fee, which starts at $1,000 a month and includes the feed work and Merchant Center fixes. And your ad spend, which goes straight to Google on your own card.

The spend follows your catalogue and your target return. A store with a few hundred products and a 4:1 target needs a different budget to one with thousands of products and thin margins, and the proposal forecasts revenue at each level before you commit.

FAQ

Common Google Shopping questions

You upload a product feed to Google Merchant Center and link it to Google Ads. When someone searches for a product, Google matches the search against your feed and shows your photo, price and store name. You pay when someone clicks, and the feed decides which searches you appear on.

Yes. Shopping ads are the product listings with photos and prices at the top of Google, and they now run through Standard Shopping or Performance Max campaigns. There is also a free listings programme that shows products in the Shopping tab without paying per click.

The buyer sees the product, the price and the store before they click, so the clicks you pay for come from people who already like the price. For most online stores it returns more than text ads on product searches.

Our management starts at $1,000 a month and includes the feed work, Merchant Center fixes, campaign management and reporting. Your ad spend goes to Google directly. Most stores spend $3,000 to $30,000 a month on top, set by catalogue size and target return. What Google Ads costs in Australia →

Performance Max for most stores with a clean feed and conversion history, because it reaches YouTube, Display and Gmail as well. Standard Shopping when you need tight control over which products and searches get budget, or when the account is too new for Performance Max to learn from. Plenty of accounts run both.

The usual causes are price or availability mismatches between the feed and the site, missing shipping or returns policies, or a site that does not meet Google's checkout and contact requirements. The fix is correcting the cause, then requesting a review. We handle both.

Products can show within days of approval. Performance settles once each product has enough clicks and sales to bid on, over the first one to two months, which is when bidding moves to a target return. A sportswear retailer saw revenue lift in the first month on the same spend.

Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and Magento stores, with feeds from the platform's own Google channel or a feed app. Where the feed app is the problem, we replace or configure it.

Yes. Both are set up in your name, so the product history and conversion data stay with you if you leave. Read the Very Fair Terms →

Most stores should. Shopping sells today and SEO builds the category pages that sell without a click cost. The Shopping search terms report tells the SEO team which categories to build first. Ecommerce SEO →
